Religious

Been involved in religious design is one of the most rewarding experiences that I have encountered in my professional life.

My first assignment in the Religious design was a Christian Church and Cementery for "Funeraria San Jose".  A funeral company based in Puerto Vallarta Mexico.

While working  as an intermediate designer with CJK Design Group in San Francisco CA,  I have been part of one amazing design team specialized in Greek Orthodox Churches and community centers.

I have also  earned experience working as a Job Captain with Stong and Associates developing Christian church projects such as "Church Of Divine Man" located in  the city of Richmond in the Bay Area.

Experience
Design and development of architectural projects from conceptual phase to construction documents
Producing presentation packages for clients, design disciplines and building agencies
CAD drawing of projects from conceptual phase to construction documents
Elaborating construction details, research code requirements, materials, and products.
Coordinating with clients, construction team and sub-contractors

CAREER

Architectural design expressed in sacred or religious architecture, has been one of the most satisfying experiences in my professional career. This lies not only in the deep
respect I have gained in this aspect of architecture, but also for the priviledged opportunity I had to work on projects destined to be, at the same time, spaces for
meeting, praying, socializing, safe refuge in emergency situations, and spaces for  spiritual growth. It is worth acknowledging the great artistic and religious value that
these structures add to a community and itʼs people.

Working for CJK Design awakened in me a renewed interest in the religious aspect of design that involves the inclusion of historical art. Not only has furthered my commitment in the study of the religious aspect of architecture, but my commitment to engage conceptual thinking and a creative process in each project to connect my work, on a personal level, with the defined functions.

Religious design requires a profound respect and humility throughout every phase of the design. Furthermore, this arena provides a constant influence of grand opportunity
to learn and mature, not only as an architecture professional, but also an individual. Upon reflection, I believe that in order to grow as an architect, ones needs to grow in
their character and as a person.

The work of a designer on religious facilities is arduous like any other. The perception I gained through my experience, is that in the design and construction of sacred elements
and spaces, it is first necessary to discover in oneself a tenacity comparable with the researcherʼs, the passion of a historian, the understanding of a theologian, the skill of a
mason, the accuracy of an engineer, the temperament of a sociologist, the responsive inspiration of an artist, and to discover above all, an empiric humbleness in recognizing
the trust afforded with opportunity of work on any religious project, regardless of size.
